Haha, I would take long bow any day. If I were in the Middle Ages, my melee weapons would do me no good if I am up against horse archers!

Of course, I have heard longbows require tremendous strength and stamina to use them. We are talking over 150lb of pulling with both arms! So it would take a long time to train with it. :-[

I wouldnt mind the training, with extra long range and trustworthy damage, and the right arrows, long bows are my preffered ranged weapon of choice.
